Sales Manager Job Description

As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and maximizing hotel occupancy through strategic yield management and upselling of hotel facilities and services. You will work closely with the hotel sales team to achieve monthly sales targets and ensure customer satisfaction and return business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimize hotel revenue through strategic yield management and up selling of hotel facilities and services.
  • Work closely with the hotel sales team to achieve monthly sales targets.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and return business by working closely with the Banqueting Operations team.
  • Send all correspondence to clients regarding banquet events, such as proposals, confirmations, contracts and amendments.
  • Conduct site inspections, client entertainment and familiarization visits.
  • Establish and maintain files of major accounts and bookings and ensure all are maintained in the accounts management system.
  • Establish parameters, quote and negotiate prices with customers for group business.
  • Adhere to selling strategies during negotiations and maximize selling opportunities whenever possible.
  • Understand the overall market, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand and know how to sell against them.
  • Gain understanding of the property's primary target customer and service expectations; serve the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns to offer better business solutions.
  • Handle guest complaints and disputes effectively.
  • Meet with guests during pre- and post-convention meetings to obtain feedback on the quality of products (e.g., rooms, meeting facilities and equipment, food and beverage), service levels, execution against contract and overall satisfaction.
  • Exceed customer expectations by serving them with passion and pride while building relationships and loyalty to the company.
