Job Opportunity: Pastry Specialist

We are seeking an accomplished Pastry Specialist to lead our pastry team and contribute to the success of our hotel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating exquisite desserts, pastries, and bread items that exceed guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation, baking, and presentation of all desserts, pastries, bread, and other baked items, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation.
  • Develop and update dessert and pastry menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef, taking into account guest preferences and brand identity.
  • Innovate and introduce seasonal or signature pastry offerings aligned with guest expectations and brand standards.
  • Supervise and train pastry team members, ensuring proper techniques, food safety standards, and high-quality results.
  • Monitor and maintain quality, portion control, and consistency of all pastry items, making adjustments as needed to meet guest expectations.
  • Manage pastry kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies, checking deliveries, and controlling waste to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and compliance with hygiene and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP), promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections for smooth operation and service delivery, fostering a culture of teamwork and communication.
  • Cater to special requests (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, or custom cakes) while maintaining creativity and quality, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and presentation styles, continually improving and refining your skills to stay ahead of the competition.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Patisserie, or related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in pastry preparation and management.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pastry preparation, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role, showcasing leadership and management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of baking, chocolate work, sugar art, plated desserts, and pastry kitchen operations, with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
  • Creative flair, with a keen sense of innovation and a willingness to try new ideas and approaches.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene protocols, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
