Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Preparing a variety of cold dishes according to established recipes and quality standards. This includes items like salads, appetizers, dressings, and charcuterie.
  • Mise en Place: Ensuring all necessary ingredients are prepared and readily available for service.
  • Quality Control: Maintaining consistent high standards for food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Food Safety: Adhering to strict food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Stock Management: Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with other kitchen staff, including sous chefs and commis chefs, to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Supervision: Guiding and training junior chefs and commis chefs in their section.
  • Menu Contribution: Participating in menu development and offering creative input.
  • Station Management: Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the cold kitchen station.
  • Deputizing: In the absence of the Sous Chef, the CDP may be required to take charge of the kitchen.
