The role of a Telecom Sales Account Manager involves overseeing and expanding client relationships within the telecommunications sector.
Responsibilities- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the telecom sector including operators, enterprise clients, and government entities.
- Maintain and grow assigned accounts by understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement sales strategies for telecom solutions encompassing voice, data, network infrastructure, wireless services, and managed services.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and product demonstrations to clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to meet sales targets and margins.
- Collaborate with technical teams to create customized solutions.
- Record and track sales activities, forecasts, and account information using CRM tools.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine sales approaches.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and serve as a primary point of contact for post-sales support and escalations.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, IT, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in telecom sales or account management.
- Strong knowledge of telecom technologies including fiber, MPLS, IP, VoIP, cloud, 5G, and IoT.
- Proven track record in B2B sales and client relationship management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Proficiency in CRM tools.
- Experience working with telecom operators or system integrators.
- Familiarity with government or enterprise procurement processes.
- An existing client network in the telecom or ICT sector.
