Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to oversee the smooth operation of our kitchen department.

  • To guarantee seamless duty, staff must arrive punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tags at all times.
  • The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef/Sous Chef in supervising all colleagues engaged in the kitchen.
  • Daily meetings will be held with the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef regarding menu planning.
  • The Sous Chef will attend required operational meetings and update the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef on any raised points.
  • A daily and monthly meeting will be conducted with kitchen colleagues, with the Sous Chef reporting to the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef (or designated person when instructed).
  • The Sous Chef will assist the Chef de cuisine or Sous Chef in establishing culinary standards specific to banquets that meet the needs of our target market.
  • The Sous Chef will collaborate with the Chef de cuisine or Sous Chef in planning menus and recipes and testing samples in conjunction with the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef.
  • The Sous Chef will write accurate product specifications and standards recipes for use in the computer and by the Materials manager.
Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize material usage and maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Good command of English and one other language used by majority of staff.
  • Minimum 5-6 years' experience in Hospitality.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Strong leadership, training, motivation, and communication skills.
