Petroleum Engineering Director Position

The Petroleum Engineering Director will be responsible for leading a team of experts in the development and implementation of subsurface strategies to drive growth and optimize reservoir performance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a high-performing team of petroleum engineers, geologists, and other technical professionals.
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term development and exploration plans.
  • Evaluate new exploration opportunities and acquisition targets to support growth strategy.
  • Contribute to the company's ambitious growth plan with innovative subsurface strategies.
  • Demonstrate ability to turn around results and drive growth in subsurface operations.


Key Requirements:

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • At least 10 years in an Operator environment.
  • Geology background preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record for turning around results and driving growth.
  • Experience in Middle Eastern oil and gas operations preferred.


Leadership and Technical Skills:
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Expert knowledge of reservoir engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in production optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of exploration methodologies.


Personal Qualities:
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Cultural sensitivity and international business etiquette.
  • Networking capabilities with industry professionals.


Working Conditions:
  • Office-based position with occasional field visits.
  • May require travel within Oman and internationally.
  • Standard working hours with flexibility as required by business needs.
