**Job Title:** Senior Petrophysicist – Exploration
This is a hands-on technical role focused on petrophysical analysis and not a management position. As the needs of the company evolve, so may naturally the title and scope of work.
**Overview:** We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Petrophysicist for a major operated asset based in Muscat. This role will involve working with conventional and non-conventional logs, including cased hole logging.
**Responsibilities & Activities:
  • Create and/or evaluate logging programs acquisition, supervising such activities.
  • Perform hands-on log interpretation of conventional and non-conventional logs, including cased hole logging.
  • Set up core analysis program for wells to be cored.
  • Define Formation Water Level (FWL) using pressure data and build Static Hydrocarbon Fingerprint (SHF) model using Micropaleontology.
  • Integrate PP data in subsurface reservoir characterizations for development and exploration.
  • Calculate reservoir volumetric parameters, manually or using software.
  • Perform Value Of Information analysis and cost analysis on petrophysical data acquisition or analysis.
  • Attend Technical Committee Meetings to cover PP elements.
  • Council young Omani Graduate working in OOCEP and build robust technical training program.
  • Deploy new technology in the PP arena and align it with OOCEP and its partners.

**Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences; Master's degree is an advantage.
  • 10+ years of Petrophysical Engineering experience within the oil industry, service company, or producer in the Middle East region.
  • Exposure to logging operations, core measurements, laboratory experiment follow-up, data interpretation, and logging contractor follow-up.
  • Current knowledge of latest industry tools and petrophysical interpretation techniques for clastic and carbonate reservoir systems.
  • Petrophysical and geological analysis integration expertise.
  • Ability to work in integrated teams and interact with geoscientists and reservoir engineers.
  • Pressure handling skills with short project timelines.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Good presentation and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Computer skills, especially MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
