Job Requirements

The ideal candidate for this Field Operator role will have extensive experience working in local operator positions within conventional, combined cycle, water desalination plants, and renewable energy types such as solar, wind mills, etc.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CCR Operator to monitor system parameters and coordinate activities.
  • Monitor local parameters, enter periodic readings on log sheets, and summarize shift activities/events in the log book.
  • Inspect areas and auxiliaries to ensure equipment parameters are within limits, reporting abnormalities to the CCR Operator/Shift Supervisor/Shift In Charge.
  • Perform equipment changeovers according to pre-set schedules, raising work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment.
  • Coordinate isolating and lining up equipment and systems before and after maintenance with the CCR Operator/Shift Supervisor/Shift In Charge.
  • Maintain tidy housekeeping in the work area and ensure cleanup after maintenance work.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist in training and familiarization of new operators.
  • Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls.

  • Knowledge of all relevant plant processes and equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of identification, classification, and disposal of waste.
  • Knowledge of firefighting equipment.
  • Teamwork and effective collaboration skills; embraces innovation.
  • Demonstrates integrity and respect.
  • Well-versed with power/water/solar plant operational activities.
  • Good communication skills.
