We are currently recruiting for an Omani Joint Venture General Manager for our office in Oman.

The role exists to drive growth in Oman while supporting the successful growth and coordination of the Oman Joint Ventures.

Oman Joint Venture General Manager

In compliance with the agreement, the General Manager shall:

  1. Implement policies decided and carry out decisions made by the Board of Directors; make all day-to-day decisions necessary for the efficient performance of the company.
  2. Propose the management structure required for proper management, including potential candidates for roles, subject to Board approval; involve shareholders in staffing the project team where possible.
  3. Ensure compliance with contractual provisions, standards, and regulations; oversee that works are performed according to schedules, budgets, and industry standards.
  4. Represent the company in dealings with employers and third parties.
  5. Organize and supervise company accounts, including invoicing and payments; operate bank accounts ethically and profitably.
  6. Keep the Board informed on project progress and relevant contract matters at specified intervals.
  7. Prepare and submit regular reports, schedules, financial forecasts, and other documents as required by the Board.
Oman Business Identification Manager

The primary role is to identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow Wood's business, aligning with global and business unit strategies. Focus areas include winning new business, supporting growth targets, and managing the opportunity pipeline across sectors and capabilities.

The BIM coordinates with other team members and centers to exploit opportunities, leveraging skills, relationships, and cost advantages to position Wood competitively.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing strategies for new business acquisition.
  • Defining market entry and bid strategies, and communicating these to pursuit teams.
  • Gathering market intelligence to inform proposals and competitive positioning.
  • Managing customer inquiries, prequalification, and bid submissions.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to meet client needs and resolve issues.
  • Monitoring market conditions, competitors, and relationship status.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Ensuring compliance with ethics, risk, and audit policies.

The role reports to the Vice President of Growth and Development Middle East Delivery and the Senior Vice President of Projects Middle East Delivery. It requires a customer-focused approach, relationship-building skills, and experience working within a matrix organization.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills, and experience include:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant business startup and management experience.
  • Strong business partnering experience.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Good IT and systems knowledge.
  • Understanding of Oil & Gas services business and accounting.
  • Deep knowledge of Wood's offerings.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
