Job Description

The role of Senior Contract Management Professional is pivotal in supporting the project team during the execution phase. This individual will be accountable for leading contracts, procurement, and expediting activities, including the evaluation and negotiation of contractor claims.

This position plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of the project on time, within budget, and in accordance with HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all aspects relevant to prequalification, tender preparation, issue, receipt, opening, and assessment, as well as awarding contracts.
  • Represent the project team on contract matters at internal and external meetings.
  • Provide contract and procurement advice to the project team.
  • Identify and advise on contract variations early on.
  • Prepare documents for presentation to the contracts committee and JV approval committees.
  • Participate in contract audits, reviewing records for accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Efficiently handle commercial and contractual correspondence with contractors.
  • Liaise with project team members to ensure commitments and milestones are met, and liaise with contractors to expedite progress while considering potential liquidated damages.
  • Maintain time and payment schedules and milestones according to pricing mechanisms and advise on payment terms.
  • Maintain contract payment positions and prepare periodical contractual credit and liability statements in accordance with contract provisions.
  • Administer legal issues related to damages, claims, disputes, and litigations.
  • Offer advice and seek counsel on contractual, commercial, taxation, insurance, and legal matters.
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly contracts and procurement status reports.
  • Support the negotiation of contract variations with contractors.
  • Manage and participate in the development, compilation, sourcing, pre-tenders, invitations to tender, tender openings, and evaluations of proposals received, including requests for qualifications for any contract.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing major international construction contracts.
  • Good knowledge of EPC and Operations & Maintenance.
  • Excellent written, read, and spoken English language skills.
  • Prior experience in the Middle East region is preferred.
