
Business Development Manager – FMCG Distribution

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead the establishment and growth of our detergent and FMCG distribution channel in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will have strong industry knowledge, a network of distributors and retailers, and a proven track record in successfully launching FMCG products in new markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Entry and Strategy Development
- Develop and execute a market entry strategy for Kuwait, aligning with the company's overall business goals.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential distributors, partners, and key market opportunities.
- Analyze competitors and market trends to position the brand effectively.
- Identify, negotiate, and onboard distribution partners and retailers across Kuwait.
- Establish a robust supply chain and logistics framework for the efficient delivery of products.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards for FMCG products.
- Sales and Revenue Growth
- Drive sales growth by achieving agreed targets for revenue and market penetration.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Brand Positioning and Marketing Support
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute localized promotional campaigns.
- Ensure effective brand visibility in retail outlets and online platforms.
- Provide feedback on marketing materials and campaigns to ensure alignment with local preferences.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing sales team to support channel growth.
- Mentor and guide team members to achieve individual and team objectives.
Desired Candidate Profile
Key Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in FMCG sales and distribution, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Prior experience launching and growing brands in the Kuwaiti market is highly desirable.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of the FMCG sector, particularly detergents and household care products.
- Excellent negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and sales forecasting.
- Knowledge of local regulations and cultural nuances in Kuwait.
- Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
- Local driving license is a must.
